So as I mentioned on a previous post, Fall Bucket List, I am a little “décor challenged” when the seasons change. I often forget to put out the appropriate seasonal decorations that I have on hand; at least until about midway through the appropriate season. But this year, I have vowed to do better! So I set a goal to make a few new decorations for this year. I got the idea from a friend at work that makes these great wreaths from mesh, burlap, etc.
At the top of the post, you can see my attempt at a ribbon wreath; I used a wire wreath frame and 3 types of wide ribbon I found at the local craft/fabric store, and some florist wire to attach the ribbon to the wire ring. I also bought a plaid bow for decoration. It’s a good think, too, because I ran out of ribbon about 2/3 of the way around the wreath on my second pass. So the lower part of the wreath is a little skimpier on ribbon than the top part. Oh well – I still kinda like the way it turned out. ![]()
This is my attempt at a burlap wreath. I know, it looks very bare at the moment, but I have some orange and black ribbons that I am going to use to spruce it up at bit. I think this will be a good wreath to keep up all year ’round – I can switch out the decorations, ribbon, etc. to match the seasons! Decorating challenge – mastered! How quick and easy will it be to just put a different ribbon or accent on this wreath, depending upon the holiday. ![]()
So I feel pretty good about my efforts this past week, in terms of adding a few new decorations around the house. Guess I can check that off my Fall Bucket List! ![]()

These are so cute! I’m working on a wreath too this week, and you’ve just reminded me that I need to get out my fall decor. Nice to meet you on Motivation Monday!
